Observations Improvements
Fluid Balance Chart observations
Users can now record Fluid Balance Chart observation schedules, including new fields for a client’s Daily Restriction (mL) or Daily Target (mL), to better track fluid intake and output for clients.
When capturing observations for the schedule, the flow allows selection of relevant observation types—such as Enteral Feeding Regime, Fluid Intake, Stoma (Bowel), Urine, or Vomit—with tailored entry screens for each, and ensures all related records are linked to the client’s Fluid Balance Chart schedule.
Users can view information for observations recorded under a client's Fluid Balance Chart schedule. This includes visibility of the client's daily target or restriction, and their daily balance of input versus output for the last 7 days.
These enhancements provide clearer, and more efficient fluid tracking. See more about fluid balance chart functionality.
View access for the Lumary Reports folder will need to be shared with desktop users needing to view this report. Check out our article on how to share reports.
Observation escalations
The Observation Schedule feature now supports configurable normal ranges and escalation criteria for key clinical observation types, including temperature, blood pressure, heart rate, blood glucose, oxygen saturation, and weight.
Ranges and escalation guidance are auto-populated based on client age but can be customised for each client, and escalation guidance is displayed to the user immediately if a recorded value falls outside the normal range.
This enhancement improves clinical governance and decision support by providing clear escalation pathways and ensuring that support workers are promptly alerted to readings that require attention. See more about observation escalations when adding observations schedules and capturing observations.
Vitals observations
Users can now create schedules and record all vital signs—Blood Pressure, Heart Rate, Oxygen Saturation, and Temperature—in a single Vitals observation type, streamlining the process and reducing data entry effort.
The new Vitals observation screen includes toggles to ensure flexibility and accurate recording. If a section’s toggle is on, the user must record values in that section’s fields.
Vomit observations
Users can now create schedules and record observations for Vomit, including details such as onset, appearance, volume, and associated symptoms.
This enhancement allows for more comprehensive tracking of Vomit events, which can be factored into Fluid Balance Charts as fluid output.
General improvements
Observation Schedule Type options are now displayed alphabetically.
The Pain Symptoms field on the Pain Chart page layout has been moved to its own dedicated single-column section. This update ensures that all picklist options for Pain Symptoms are fully visible and easily accessible when editing Pain observations, improving clarity and usability for users.
The Height field is now available in the Medical Details section when viewing and editing Client records. This update allows users to record client height directly from the client page, supporting more accurate BMI calculations and health observations.
Bug fixes and other changes
The following bug fixes and changes are also included in this release.
General
Funding Dashboard fix - The calculation for the Full Classification Amount has been updated. Now, the Full Classification Amount includes the include the 10% Care Management. This ensures that the full classification amount now reflects the total for the full quarter, including care management but excludes primary supplements.
SAH Extract Invoice results fix - When processing SAH Invoice Results files, Lumary now correctly recognises an ‘X' (in any case) in the ‘Attachment Provided’, ‘Attachment Required’, and 'Further Information Required’ columns as a true value. This ensures that extract items in Lumary accurately reflect the information provided in the CSV, improving data consistency for invoice processing.
Individual Contributions improvement - When a provider updates the client contribution percentage on a funding source item, any affected Service Delivered records will now automatically recalculate the client contribution amount based on the new percentage. This ensures that client contributions remain accurate and up to date across the SAH Funding Dashboard, Service Delivered records, and related budget items.
SAH Extract improvement - SAH Extracts now enforce a 10,000 Extract Item limit per extract. If an extract includes more than 10,000 Service Delivered records, Lumary will now automatically split them into multiple extracts. This aligns to Services Australia limit of 10,000 items per invoice, including deleted items. This also fixes an issue where extracts failed to delete when processing large volumes of items.
Supporting Documents improvement - The Smart File Uploader now handles the Supporting Documents object, making it easier to manage and organise client files. A new Funding Body option of SAH is also available to use when needed.
